Hey there, Alexis here, and I hope you are enjoying the Lean Ape site.
I’ve been put in charge of the obligatory “About” page. So where to begin…………I guess with a piccie of us would be a good place to start. Yes, we are real people, even if not the best at havin’ their photo taken!!!
Well, the site is owner-occupied by Dave (the guy) and Alexis (the lady), a British couple at home in the wilds of Spain or the rolling hills of the UK. Anyways the point of Lean Ape is to have a place to write and share our joint love of living low carb, healthy exercise, great food and living a self reliant life.
We’ve been earning our living online for years. And it turns out (unsurprisingly) that sitting on your butt all day typing is an easy way to suddenly find yourself with lots of extra weight and no stamina. The scary thing is that its so easy to not really notice the weight creeping on until some holiday snaps tell you the shocking truth!
To combat the weight that had snuck up on us, we both chucked in the bread and potatoes and switched to a low carb diet. The results were better, faster and easier than either of us expected and led to a new way of eating for life. We didn’t have to count anything, calculate anything or read labels. We just ditched high carb foods in favor of low carb eating.
Along the way Dave resurrected his love affair with weights and I achieved what I thought was the impossible; finding exercise enjoyable, tough and rewarding.
We want to continue looking good naked for life, so our future is low carb.
Now we both enjoy our work, and love writing but even so it took us a year to connect the dots and finally decide to launch a diet and fitness site. Since we make a living on the net it seemed like a good focus to pool our resources. And start a joint project, with the potential to motivate others to take charge of their bodies, and turn themselves into lean apes too.
Plus of course, does the world really need another hair clipper review site?
